A former part-time teacher from San Jose, Occidental Mindoro was among the top 10 students of the Philippine National Police Academy (PNPA) Masidtalak Class of 2023 who recently graduated in Silang, Cavite.
Cadet First Class Eden Jhun Masibay Santos ranked fourth out of 208 new cadets and was recognized as chief and Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Kampilan Awardee by PNPA.
A graduate of Bachelor of Secondary Education Major in Biological Science at Occidental Mindoro State College (OMSC), Santos said that he was a proud "iskolar ng bayan" and becoming a cadet is one of the most important life decisions he made.
Santos, the fourth child among five siblings, shared that behind his success were the challenges he had to overcome, especially in his tenure as a part-time instructor in OMSC's senior high school (SHS).
The son of Eduardo and Rowena Santos said that despite these struggles, individuals should persist, take the risk, and grab the opportunity to come to their lives.
In his four-year cadetship, he discovered his leadership skills and learned discipline, stating that achieving something depends on one's hardwork to obtain it.
Aside from thanking the people who supported him, Santos also left a message of encouragement to his fellow MindoreƱos, encouraging them to pursue a path taken by few and serve the Philippines with fairness and integrity. (Brenda Valera/Radyo Natin San Jose, Occidental Mindoro)
