32nd SEA Games: PH Spikers suffer sweep VS defending champ Indonesia

REALITY CHECK. The Philippines succumbed to Indonesia in their opening match in the men's volleyball competition of the 32nd Southeast Asian Games.
PHNOM PENH, Cambodia – The Philippine men's national volleyball team opened their 32nd Southeast Asian Games campaign with a 25-18, 25-18, 25-23 defeat against Indonesia at National Olympics Stadium on Wednesday, May 3.
Indonesia showed no mercy, retaliating the young, newly-formed Filipino side to start their three-peat bid on a high note.
Giving little to no fight at all, the nationals got beaten by the same score in Sets 1 and 2.
In the third set, the reigning two-time champion found themselves challenged but responded down the stretch to complete the sweep.
The Philippines will face host Cambodia, bronze winner in the previous edition, on Thursday, May 4, at 8:30 pm in the same venue.
