Mikaela Andrea Bonador of Lubang, Occidental Mindoro, achieved the highest score in the recent Licensure Examination for Teachers (LET) or Board Examination for Teachers administered by the Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC).
Bonador secured the top spot in the LET for aspiring elementary teachers with a board rating of 92.20 percent.
She is one of the 24,819 passers at the elementary level, accounting for 40.76 percent of the test takers who participated in the examination in March 2023.
In an interview with Radyo Natin San Jose, Occidental Mindoro, Bonador expressed her surprise at attaining the first rank in the LET, considering the limited time to review. She shared that she had to balance her studies with her work as an online teacher.
Fortunately, Bonador credited her supportive family and friends for helping her succeed.
She also mentioned that teaching in Lubang, her birthplace, served as one of her inspirations for becoming an educator.
As a reward, a review center presented Bonador with a cash gift of 300,000 pesos, which she intends to use to buy books for children as part of her reading advocacy.
Bonador advised aspiring educators to surround themselves with people who love and support them. If that is not possible, she encouraged them not to be discouraged, to trust themselves, and to avoid comparing themselves to others. She emphasized that the Lord knows their efforts and success is within their grasp.
Bonador earned her degree in Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education (Major in English) from the University of the Philippines Diliman. (Reported by Brenda Dais/101.7 Radyo Natin San Jose, Occidental Mindoro)
