The Philippine men's national football team overcame a 0-1 deficit in the second half to beat visiting Afghanistan at the Rizal Memorial Stadium last September 12.

Almost but not quite for Filipino cue artist Anthony Raga as he finished bridesmaid anew for the second straight time in the China Open 9-Ball Championships 2023 in Shanghai last September 10.
Raga fell in the hands of Germany's Joshua Filler in the grand finals, 11-5, to settle for the second prize of 20,000 dollars (1.1 million pesos).
More than a month ago, the University of Cebu graduate suffered a close 13-12 hill-hill defeat in the European Pool Championship finale, facing Spain's David Alcaide.
The 25-year-old rising star joined the China Open four years ago and lost the trophy to hometown bet Wu Jiaqing.
Gilas Asiad lineup unveiled

Two naturalized players and four 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup holdovers will lead the charge for Gilas Pilipinas in the upcoming Asian Games in Hangzhou, China this September.
Reinforcements Justin Brownlee and Ange Kouame, alongside June Mar Fajardo, Scottie Thompson, Roger Pogoy, and Japeth Aguilar, will be joined by six Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) players.
Cut from the Gilas roster for the World Cup, Chris Newsome (Meralco Bolts) and Calvin Oftana (TNT Tropang Giga) are ready to prove themselves in the Asiad.
San Miguel Beermen's Terrence Romeo and Magnolia Hotshots' Calvin Abueva will also don the national colors after returning to the national team five years after suspension due to their involvement in the Philippine-Australia brawl.
Completing the 12-man Gilas cast are Romeo's teammate Mo Tautuaa and Jason Perkins from the Phoenix Super LPG Fuel Masters.
Guiding Gilas from the sidelines is current Barangay Ginebra San Miguel Gin Kings coach Tim Cone.
Gilas is in Group C with fellow World Cup participant Jordan led by Rondae Hollis-Jefferson, Tyler Lamb's Thailand, and former PBA import Wayne Chism-powered Bahrain.
