Baguio villages participate in Zero Waste Month observance

BAGUIO — Different villages in this city have participated in the clean-up activities as part of the observance of the Zero Waste Month this January.
Environment Management Bureau-Cordillera Regional Office (EMB-CAR) officer-in-charge (OIC) director Alex Luis said this is in line with the continuing National Clean-Up Program which was launched in September 2016.
The celebration of the Zero Waste Month aims to reinforce the implementation of Republic Act 9003 or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act of 2000, particularly in the grassroots level.
The barangays will submit a report regarding the clean-up activity.
With the city's thrust for a cleaner and greener Baguio, the local government unit is continuously carrying out different advocacies and programs in preserving the environment such as the "Salaknib ti Waig," the implementation of the Clean Air Act and the tree planting activities. (PNA)
