Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc., together with Ashoka Philippines conducts its Day 2 of Barangay Resilience Exchange

Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc., together with Ashoka Philippines believes that resiliency is more than being able to take a punch and having the strength to get back up — to be truly resilient means solving the root of the problem in order for communities to bolster towards a better future.
Last Friday, July 30, Cebuana Lhuillier Foundation, Inc. and Ashoka Philippines' launched Day 2 of Barangay Resilience Exchange (Rx), an online event on community-driven innovation for resilience in time for National Disaster Resilience Month.
The Day 2 Project Exchange segment was graced with speakers Mr. Ronaldo Limbago, Project Manager of GIZ PHILIPPINES, Ms. Meek Villanueva, the head of Emerging Customers segment of AXA Philippines, and Ms. Joie Cruz, Adapt PH project creator as well as the CEO and Founder of Limitless Lab.
For Day 2, Mr. Limbago introduced the free web and mobile-based "Payong" application which provides risk assessments to Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) risk assessments while simultaneously serving as a Learning Management System thanks to its e-learning modules.
Ms. Villanueva of AXA PHILIPPINES, one of the largest and fastest-growing insurance companies in the country, shed light on the business' active goal of making insurance more accessible to all citizens, regardless of class status, through Micro & Nano Insurance.
For Limitless Lab, one of the major partners of Barangay Rx, Ms. Cruz shared the creation of the project "Adapt PH" amidst the coronavirus pandemic. Adapt PH is a nationwide campaign focused on using the power of design to encourage people's observance of the implemented COVID-19 minimum health standards and aid in stopping the spread of the virus. The project also fashioned together toolkits targeted to societal stakeholders including Local Government Units (LGUs), MSMEs, public markets, schools, and Public Utility Vehicles (PUVs).
After the Project Exchange segment, Barangay Rx proceeded to hold simultaneous Clinics or workshops for capacity development and strategies training facilitated by partner organizations. Cebuana Lhuillier held a "Financial Literacy Clinic", Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation gave training on "Business Continuity Planning for MSMEs", Barangay Resilience Innovation Through Empowerment (BRITE) helped LGU leaders frame solutions better with a "Problem Definition" clinic, and Roots of Health imparted their innovative strategies in "Ensuring continued youth-friendly contraceptive access amidst the COVID Pandemic."
For Day 2, Barangay Rx gave away 30 ProtectMAX Insurance courtesy of Cebuana Lhuillier Insurance Brokers, which entitles customers to cash assistance up to P25,000 to minimize the impact of distress and misfortune should a disaster or unfavorable event occur and also raffled 15 MicroSavings Bank account with an initial deposit of P250 courtesy of Cebuana Lhuillier Bank.
Barangay Rx will continue to dispense valuable and jam-packed information for Day 3 of its campaign scheduled this August 6, 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., which will center on the Women & Youth sector. Project Exchange Speakers lined up for the last day of the enterprising project are Ibu Nani Zulminarni of PEKKA (Women Headed Family Empowerment), Ayesha Vera-Yu of ARK (Advancement for Rural Kids), and Patricia Non of Community Pantry Ph.
Just like Day 2, Day 3 of Barangay Resilience Exchange Day highlights the new batch of simultaneous clinics, a 60-min capacity-building program headed by Ashoka Philippines, Advancement of Rural Kids, Limitless Lab, and Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation.
Ashoka Philippines will be hosting a clinic on Innovation Mapping, A collaborative and fun way of understanding challenges and finding solutions that are suited to different communities, solutions that are possible, desirable, and measurable.
ARK o Advancement of Rural Kids Clinic is all about our #BidaLeaders and #LakasLoobLeader, ARK Team will be inspiring their attendees to dream big, how to unite and have access to support, and to invest in themselves.
Limitless Lab's Founder and CEO is back after sharing #AdaptPH last Friday on our Day 2 Project Exchange, now with a Design Thinking Clinic. Design thinking is a process of problem-solving that encourages organizations and communities to focus on the people they're creating for, which leads to better products and services.
And also, PDRF (Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation) is back again for Day 3, After a clinic on Business Continuity Planning on MSMEs and sharing iAdapt.ph, this time, another capacity-building program centered on Disaster Preparedness.
