MANILA – The number of areas in Quezon City placed under Special Concern Lockdown Areas (SCLA) due to the number of coronavirus disease (Covid-10) cases is now down to 56.
As of Thursday, the Quezon City government has recorded 56 areas under SCLA, with an estimated 2,669 families or 4,650 individuals affected.
On Aug. 24, there were 68 areas under lockdown with 4,300 affected families or about 8,000 individuals.
The City Epidemiology and Surveillance Unit (CESU), however, clarified that under SCLA, the city government is imposing lockdown only in certain areas or streets and not the whole barangay or community.
Meanwhile, the city government provides food packs as well as essential kits for those affected by the SCLA.
Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte reminds her constituents to religiously observe health protocols and the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) guidelines, given the community transmission of the Delta variant across the country.
"We remind our QCitizens to continue following minimum health standards and to immediately get themselves vaccinated. The city will continue to expand its vaccination program to achieve full population protection as soon as possible," Belmonte said. (PNA)
