Hospital in India receives Guinness record after vaccinating 30,000 persons in a week

A hospital in Mumbai, India collaborated with an insurance company to achieve a Guinness World Record by vaccinating more than 30,000 persons in one week.
Around 30,467 people were vaccinated by the Surana Sethia Hospital in collaboration with insurance company ICICI Lombard from August 7 to 14, 2021.
According to Guinness, the attempt began at 9 a.m. on August 7 and finished at 4 p.m. on August 13.
"As the pandemic continues to re-emerge in waves, it is most crucial to vaccinate the population," Surana Sethia Hospital CEO Dr. Prince Surana said in an interview.
Surana also said that the "underprivileged sections of the society are in a disadvantageous position as they do not have the resources and facilities to travel long distances to get themselves and their family members inoculated. That's why we collaborated with ICICI Lombard for this drive."
Meanwhile, the hospital said that they continued the vaccination program up to 14 days and they were able to vaccinate 50,000 persons for free.
