Adele's latest single "Easy on Me" is nowhere near taking it easy as it spends a fourth week on top of the Billboard Global 200 and a third week on Billboard Global Excl. U.S. charts (dated November 13).
"Easy on Me" is Adele's comeback hit following her six-year musical hiatus. The song is the lead single of her fourth studio album, 30, which is scheduled to be released this November 19.
According to the multi-time Grammy winner, "Easy on Me" was the first song she wrote on the album. With a cinematic black-and-white opening, the song begins with the verse, "there ain't no gold in this river that I've been washin' my hands in forever. I know there is hope in these waters, but I can't bring myself to swim when I am drowning in this silence."
In an article by Vogue UK, Adele revealed that her latest album was recorded for her son as she navigates life after divorce from his father, Simon Konecki.
Vogue further describes the song as a reflection of Adele's "fraught childhood, her lost marriage and the lessons learnt and unlearnt about family, love and abandonment along the way."
Meanwhile, rounding out the Global 200's top five are The Kid LAROI and Justin Bieber's "Stay" clinging on to number two, English singer Ed Sheeran taking both the number three and four spot with "Shivers," and "Bad Habits, and Ckay and number five with "Love Nwantiti."

Adele is also no stranger to dominating the Billboard charts as she has snagged the top spot before with her songs "Rolling In The Deep," "Set Fire To The Rain," "Someone Like You," and "Hello."
Following its release, "Easy on Me" quickly broke the world record for most streamed song within 24-hours, surpassing previous title holder BTS with their song "Butter."
