Electric coop offers to facilitate TIN application

DUMAGUETE CITY — The Negros Oriental Electric Cooperative II (NORECO II) has offered to facilitate the application of taxpayer identification number (TIN) with the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) for applicants for electricity connection.
NORECO II information officer Sharon Araula, in a media release Tuesday, said the NORECO II's One-Stop Shop aims to help the public facilitate the requirements for membership to the electric cooperative.
One of the requirements is a TIN from the BIR.
An applicant needs to just fill out the BIR Form 1904 at the NORECO II Office and the authorization/consent that the cooperative will process his or her TIN at the BIR, Araula said.
Meanwhile, NORECO II member-consumer-owners (MCOs) can now pay their electricity bills via ECPAY mobile app through the local "sari-sari" store.
This is a real-time payment and the transaction reference will serve as the receipt of the payor.
Another mode of payment is through Maybank via its Maybank2U PH app, Araula said.
NORECO II has provided various payment options for its MCOs during this time of the coronavirus disease 2019 pandemic to help people stay safe and curb the spread of the virus. (PNA)
