How can I find peace of mind? It's a question often asked, but rarely answered in a satisfying way.
Some say peace of mind lies in security. Some say it's about de-cluttering and finding stillness and calm in life. Some say it's about acceptance and letting go.
If you are working 8 hours everyday, 5 days a week, you need to find balance and keep your sanity intact. Inner peace is a choice, and many of your habits determine how much peace you experience in your daily life. Peace is very much needed in our life. It is the foundation of the conscious human mind.
Inner peace may seem to be a lofty goal, but it's a state of being that's attainable for all of us. Below you'll find 3 ways to achieve inner peace.
1. Avoid engaging with toxic people
The people you surround yourself with affect the way you think, feel, and behave. Engaging with people who lie, gossip, bully, or cheat takes a toll on your well-being.
2. Accept what is
Whatever is happening in the present moment, say "yes" to it. Don't resist it; don't struggle against it; and don't try to argue with it. The present is already here, and it is what it is. When you struggle with the way things are now, you're struggling with the entire universe.
3. Stop trying to impress people
You could waste a lot of your life trying to make people like you. Depending on admiration from others, however, gives others power over you. Mentally strong people are comfortable in their own skin. They don't waste their time worrying about whether other people approve of their choices. Instead, they focus on living according to their values.
When you carry peace within you, you have the ability to remain calm and joyful at all times, regardless of outside circumstances, or what life offers you at any given moment.
Remember to always choose thoughts that will help you and bring you peace, instead of choosing thoughts that will hurt you. (FCSC)
