A man in India paid about $260,000 to construct a miniature replica of the iconic Taj Mahal.
52 years old Anand Prakash Chouksey said that it took three years to finish the construction of the building in Burhanpur city in the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh.
"It was a gift for my wife but also for the town and its people," Chouksey said to the BBC.
According to Chouksey, the construction of the replica of the Taj Mahal was a tribute to his wife of 27 years.
Originally, Chouksey said that he wanted to create a Taj Mahal tower 80 feet high, however, the authorities told him to make it 29 feet tall.
The Taj Mahal is a 17th-century mausoleum and it was constructed by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan in memory of his queen Mumtaz. (KBAPI)
